You want a full deletion from the CA and nothing less, and you want it on ALL THREE credit bureaus (if they're reporting the collection on all three). A paid collection affects your credit score the same way an unpaid one does.

Gulf State is notorious for lying through their unethical teeth. Treat this the same way you would if the debt wasn't yours -- make them validate it. It may sound odd to validate a *paid* debt, but the end result will be the same: They won't be able to, and you can then insist to the CRAs that they delete it.

If you can get a letter from GS saying the debt has been paid and they'll delete it, you can send a copy of that to the CRAs and demand deletion. If the CRAs don't comply, you have ground for suing them.
