To start with, on the item that isn't yours, I would dispute with the credit bureau first, unless it is a collection agency. Then do it the other way - dispute with the collection agency first (validation letter). Wells Fargo bought several banks and some other stuff. Apparently there were some old debts and some leftover inaccurate accounts and a lot of people are dealing with this. I can't recall who it was they bought - maybe someone else has that info handy. Write Wells Fargo and tell them you never had an account with them, ask them what is that credit report entry about. See what they say. Linda
