There is no set number to settle for. Usually longer the delinquency, more leverage you have. Since it has been only a year, they would be less willing to give you very favorable terms. If you got money to pay at least the principal, I would offer them the principal in exchange for removal of tradeline or changing the tradeline to PAID AS AGREED. Don't believe their line that they can't send a leeter. If you make an offer and they accept, tell them without a written agreement, they will not get a penny. Use the Pay for Removal letter from Linda's briefcase. Good luck.
