What state are you in? Were any of the debts written off & how old is the oldest unpaid debt. Your house payment should come first no matter what - you don't want them to foreclose, then your vehicle payment. You could contact these creditors and ask if they offer a hardship program (some banks will agree to interest only payments for a certain # of months - same with the vehicle payment). Are you still dealing with the CC companies or have they been charged off? Again, some CC's will work with you so you can work on bringing your account current (i.e. stopping interest, late fees, overlimit fees). They will put a hold on the account (no more charges) until you demonstrate regular, monthly payments. However, if you agree to *ANY* hardship program get everything in writing. If you have TOO many CC's close some of them (that may prevent interest, etc.). The only other step in BK - you can file individually or together and usually have to appear in court.
