Dispute it with the Credit Bureaus that are reporting it. Tell them the account should have been deleted and per this letter and of course include a copy of that letter from Gulf State. Gulf State never verifies anything, even with the Credit Bureaus so it will surely come off. The only thing you have to worry about, (which has happened to me) is them re-reporting it when they do their next reporting cycle to the bureaus. However, if you have a letter from Gulf State saying that it should be taken off, I would assume that they have at least taken it out of their "active" file and probably wont be reported again. They were just too lazy to submit the deletion. Dispute it with the CRA's. :o)
