I just recieved a summons to my local court for a cc debt to Citibank which I stopped paying about a year ago.The summons has the name and address of the court, but on the bottom has the phrase "This communication is from a debt collector and is an attempt to collect.... blah, blah".It also does not give me a specific time or date to be in court,it just says I have 10 days to "answer" the summons(what does "answer" mean anyway?).I'm not sure who delivered it as it was left on my door when I was not home. Thanks in advance for any help.

PS This debt was originally $6000 a year ago now they are suing for $12,000 plus $2500 attorneys fees.Isn't that somewhat excessive?
