charged off Chase Visa CC

My Chase Visa account was charged off about 6 years ago and I was out of the country for the last 6 years. I came back and learned that this account has been charged off even though I believed to have made all my payments. I ordered bank statement copies which they told me takes 60-120 days (is that normal) and believe with those I can proove I paid all my bills. When this is the case, who will be responsible to clean out my credit history - not just mentioning it has been paid but completly erasing it - is that possible at all? I never heard from Chase or the Collection company since some m..... at chase must have entered my international address of that time incorrectly -thus I was not able to respond to anything they wrote to me. If I can proof all that, can I sue the CC company for negligency?
