Chapter 13 is ok for someone with good income and needing adjustment of debt load. Stays on your credit records for 7 years AFTER final settlement.Ch 7, gets rid of all your debt and headaches,and the underlying accounts come off your reports 7 years from FIRST delinquency.The bk stays for 10 years, but is = to the normal 7 years + 3 workout for ch 13. I think the "consolidator" is = to a rat-hole
