Deciphering disputed CRA

I disputed an erroneous debt on my Equifax CR. I mailed it out on March 6 and I received the green card stating it had been received on March 10.

On March 23, I received a letter back from them dated March 16th with a new copy of the credit report. Underneath the collection account it states "Consumer
disputes-reinvestigation in process."

On the cover letter it said, "Below are the results for Equifax to reivestigate certain elements of your equifax credit file. Equifax contacted each source directly and our investigation is now completed. Enclosed is an updated copy of your credit file."

Under results of Investigation is says:
We have reviewed the identification information.
The results are:
Name
SSN
Birthdate
PLEASE SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY CARD, DRIVER'S LICENSE AND/OR OFFICAL DOCUMENT TO UPDATE YOUR NAME.

My name is correct, and so is my SSN, but the birthdate is wrong. It's the same incorrect birthdate that was on my credit report before I had it changed and updated 1 month ago with Equifax and they CHANGED it because I did send them a copy of my driver's license.

Now they want it again. But do they want it for the dispute, or because they are still showing the same incorrect birthdate? Not only did they send me a new copy of the CR with the updated birthdate, I also called them and they said it was updated.

I sent them a letter on March 25 stating that I had already changed the personal info, and included the letter where they said they had changed the incorrect information.

Considering they still have until April 10th to fulfill their 30 day obligation and then 15 days after that, can anyone help me understand what this means. Does it mean that they have tried to verify the infomation, it came back verified and they are trying to update my file? But then why do they state "re-investigation in process?"

Thanks for all your help. :-)
