A lot of the time collection agencies put "unable to laocate consumer" on reprots even though the consumer lives at the address on the report, and is available, and the CA hasn't ever written to that address.

However, Why Chat's point is the one I was making - they don't know where you are. If they haven't tried to conatc you at the NY address, try disputing that statement on your credit reports, and say that you have never received any correspondence from them, and see what happens.
