Ah, but see, herein lies the crux of the problem: the original creditor's dates are correct as far as I can tell; it is the collection agency who is playing fast and loose with the original creditor's dates. They got this debt after Dec 1997 I am sure.
Regardless of changes to the law, they (collection agency) must abide by the original creditor's dates, as they appear on the credit report, correct or incorrect??
