The problem with getting a card when one report is clean and the others aren't, is that now, card companies are doing account reviews on all three bureaus, trying to see the defaults before they happen. If you get a card based on your Equifax report, and three months later they do a review on TU, they will take away your decent rate and give you the default rate, and you will play heck getting it back. Put up a little more of a fight with TU and whatever is left on Experian.

If you have anything unpaid, they are the ones that will bite you. 1 or 2 older paid negative accounts (over 2 yrs at least), you can get fairly good terms - Citibank has been approving people with one or two old negatives that are paid. But if you defaulted on a Citi account (or one of the companies they've bought recently) forget it. They have a long memory.
