Help!! I received a notice in the mail today that they sent papers to the court for request for judgement for 2800.00
It was first with Discover then went to first select, I fell behind on a payment and they said they wouldnt take the minimum no longer. So I stopped paying all together.
Now the acct is with a Michigan lawyer who has claimed to have filed a judgement.
They want a min of 175 a month to keep it out of court or from the judgment from progressing, thats out of my budget.
My question is what can they really do? If they do file a judgement do I have to go to court? what happens if I dont go? Will they garnish my wages without my consent?
They just dont seem to want to negotiate on meeting me half way, they are rude and my credit is shot anyhow so Im not real keen on making huge payments to pay it off right now. Also they have tapped on over 800 in attourneys and misc fees, so Im real uptight about giving them any $$$
I just dont want to end up in jail or having my paycheck robbed away from me.
I just want to know what is the worst they can do to me here in Michigan.
Thanks
