Can I have a "shopping spree" before filing bankruptcy?

I'm considering filing for bankruptcy, I have a consultation with an attorney tomorrow. I have a Visa card with about $3,000.00 available. If tomorrow, my attorney and I decide it would be good for me to file, could anything bad happen to me if I decided to buy a few things with the Visa before I actually file for bankruptcy? (I'm In Illinois) Has anyone had any experience with this or can anyone provide some advice? Thanks.
