I came accross a similar firm that does this and they said they are lawyers. If I okay with what they offer, they said I'll save 40% with 15% legal fees included. So basically, paying 60% of what I owe in lump sum next year less the legal fees of course. I don't know....because like you said, we have to stop paying the creditor completly for about a year so it'll be easier for them to negotiate. Doesn't sound right....
