Sounds like a scam. If you are current on your c.c. debt why jeopardize it. Frankly, if you stopped making payments on legitimate debts for the amount you owe the c.c.'s would probably try to sue you. And I wouldn't give anyone I personally don't know extremely well a power-of-attorney (you could end up with 0)
