More than likely Chexsystems is the culprit for you not getting and acct. The are a credit reportting agency just like the big 3 but they deal exclusivly with banks. And them make the big 3 look like amatures. Order your report from them at www.chexsystems.com. You can order it online for free. It will have the name of the bank that you owe money too. They hold such a tight rein over their clients it is impossible to get removed. But if it is more then 1yr old and paid BofA and Washington Mutual will open and acct. BofA will open for an unpaid more than 3 yrs old. Check out www.chexvictims.com they helped me get a new acct as i fell in to the chex black hole.
