Creditors are required to charge off accounts within 120 days after default under the TILA (Truth In Lending Act) If you have ANY old bills or letters that say you are late or in default, make a copy and send to the CRA's requesting removal and advising them that the account was fraudulently re-aged.File a complaint on-line with the FTC and your State's consumer protection division, use your file #'s from that in your letter to the CRA's, tell them to remove within 30 days or you will ammend you complaint against the CA to include them.(this is assuming that the ca actually HAS misreported, and not just threatened to do so)
