A Collection on the old debt!

Hello: I own credit card debt $9,500 15 years ago! It was alrady past due within 15 years! I just receive the letter form collector! They want me to paid the money! I was try to find the job in four months but still unemployee! I can not pay those debt! Could someone give me some suggestions about this situation! Do I need to pay those old debt? I am not file the CH 7 in my life and I live in CA!
