I have been trying out a pay for removal scenerio with one of my smaller debts..around $50 (I know they don't normally play ball with small amt. but I figured I would try it)...sent them linda's 'pay for removal' letter rrr and received a letter back today saying that the letter 'confirms my commmitment to pay', gave me a date to pay by, indicated that I should pay with guaranteed funds and concluded that 'once payment is received the necessary steps will be taken to have this account removed from your credit file' and indicated this would take 30 to 60 days...should I believe them and pay them...the letter was dated and signed ...this is a CA, not the original creditor....is this letter enough to hold up with the CRA if the company does not remove it after I pay...should I try to get something else in writing or is this adequate???
