Coming from someone who has been there done that... Utility bills will go on your report as a collection if you don't pay them at all. As for paying a little late, you more than likely don't have anything to worry about... just as long as you do pay them.
I know how it is to juggle funds. I always prioritize my bills. Anything that can go immediately on a credit report gets paid first. Utilities are usually little more forgiving; however, they do have the power to leave in the dark and back in the stone-age if you know what I mean!
