Credit Card - date of last activity

I had an old account with CitiBank that I defaulted on sometime in 94 or 95. According to CitiBank, it was charged off Dec. 23, 1996. They sold the debt to a CA who I settled with for 60%. The account shows up on one CR - Experian as a CitiBank account with COs across the two year history, two months current when I settled and one final CO. The two year history ends in Sep 1998. Reading the board, I believe this account should show on my CR for 7 years beyond the date of my last activity before being charged off. My problem is I doubt I have anything telling me what that date is. Is there anyway I can get the info from them? Should I dispute it with the CRA and 'estimate' the date of my last activity?
