I figure it's for gas as well. However, the car went bad on me, and the company delivered another, towing the first car back to their business. There was a quarter tank of gas in it at that time. I was not able to put gas in it because it was not driveable, due to no fault of my own. The 2nd car was returned with a full tank. I was informed at the time of rental about a $3.00/gal refueling charge if the car was not returned full. SOP for rental companies, I know. What burns me most is the fact that this was done after the transaction had concluded, with no communication from the company, and no authorization by me.
