I just found this website and have fallen in love! Unfortunately it's a finding 2 weeks too late. I finally made myself sit down and make a budget which included paying off several CA's via post dated checks. How does that work with SOL and how long will these things be on my credit report now? I should have everything paid off by July of 2003, so will the 7 years start then? My credit history is already messed up since we (my husband & I) filed a Chapter 13 Bankrupcy (which will be paid off October 2003 and cleared from my records 2005), but we were hoping to possibly buy a house after all the debt was gone. Renting is such a waste of money and we would like to build our own place to call home. I'm thinking that we need to wait until the credit report is MAJORLY improved, unless we want to pay an outrageous interest rate.

Also, with this strict budget we no longer have any money to spare and we don't have any credit cards, so, how can I go about getting a truely free credit report? I can't join a lot of credit report sites because I don't have a CC. Help!

I wish I would've found this site sooner! Any advice anyone can give would be helpful!
