?? in re incorrect personal info on CR

All of my CR's (esp Experian) contain numerous 'previous addresses'. I've been in my current residence for 5 years, 4 years at my previous. My current address is correct on all, however, there are several old addresses that are not mine or that are incomplete (no/wrong apt.#), incorrect (totally wrong street address or spelling of street) or just plain fictitious! My previous address is listed 3 times on EQ--with no apt #, with wrong street address, and with wrong street #. Some of the earlier addresses I don't even recognize (and I'm not that forgetful (yet)! We're probably talking a total of 10 absurdly incorrect 'previous residences' total on all reports.
My question is: how should I go about(and should I bother with) having this information corrected? Can correcting/pointing out these incorrect entries be of use to me in any potential validation/verification efforts? Will the CR's disclose the creditor or ca who reported these incorrect addresses? Any other basic knowledge I should know about incorrect personal information?
