Many attorneys handle Fair Debt Collection Practices Act cases. The nature of cases under that statute makes them difficult, at best, to handle nationwide. Filing them pro se often leads to greater problems for the consumer. Pro se dismissals often occur from a lack of knowledge of federal law [you will almost always be removed to federal court from state court]. I received a volume of FDCPA case referrals daily and do refer them out to other consumer advocate attorneys [in the respective state where the consumer lives] who are part of the National Association of Consumer Advocates and National Cconsumer Law Center groups. To call our groups or its members "disinterested" is bizarre and false. Apparently Mr. Bauer felt them need to misquote me and malign me. Perhaps it is more accurate to say that I am not interested in the cases he tried to refer to me. It appears that the other consumer law specialists concurred with my assessment of Mr. Bauer.
