CAMCO just called about 1991 debt

Camco purchased an alleged Citibank charge-off from 1991. I asked for validation - was told no "they are not the bank and don't have to provide me with that info).

Three different reps (at different times) said last payment was made in 1991. I said SOL in NJ is 6 years. They said the SOL renews when a "Aquisition" company purchases it. I laughed and said no, it is 6 years from the last payment. Put on hold.... new rep said that a payment was received November 2001 and is within the SOL. I said they are trying to scam me and asked that they never call me again, all correspondence to be in writing. Was told that I am refusing to pay and that they will take me to court.

I was read the "all information obtained will be used for credit collection purposes" statement (after 15 minutes and conversations with three different people)and hung up on. I will be sending a C&D and Validation Request today. Notified BBB and will do the Illinois AG tomorrow.

My questions:
Are they persistant?
Has CAMCO pursued a Judgement against anyone out there on a debt which is beyond the SOL?
Do they report to the CRA's any debt which is beyond the SOL just to be p(ricks)?
