I know that alot of people on this forum have complained about Camco (Capital Aquisition) trying to collect on old Citibank debts that are beyond the SOL. Anybody have any advice or warnings on how these people operate?

1. Are they persistant even though debt is uncollectable?
2. Do they seek Judgments even though debt is uncollectable?
3. Do they report debts to CRA's even though they are uncollectable?

Camco called me regarding an alleged Citibank debt from 1991. I asked for validation - was told no, that Camco is not the bank and that they do not have to send me that info! Spoke to 3 different reps at different times and was told that last payment was in 1991. Said that regardless of debt's validity, the SOL for the State of NJ is 6 years. I was told that once Camco buys the debt it renews the SOL. I laughed and said no it doesn't, the SOL starts at the date of delinquency.

I was put on hold and a new rep got on and said that a payment was rec'd in November 2001. I said that this is a LIE and that they were to never call my home again and that all correspondence was to be in writing. I was told that I am refusing to pay the debt and that they will seek a Judgment.

I will send a C&D and Validation Request today. What else should I prepare for???? Thanks
