newbie--Gulfstate info?

Hello to all here... I have a "Gulfstate Credit" item on my credit report. After having a look-see on other sites, I am hearing nothing but bad things about them. I have no earthly idea of the debt I supposedly owe them. The item doesn't appear to have been on the report very long. All the talk about Gulfstate garnishing peoples' wages/bank accounts/etc. has me shook. What exactly is the deal with Gulfstate? Should I take some sort of action now? I'll be here often as I also have identity theft issues. Thanks in advance...I am in Virginia.
