Was your husband ordered by the court at the time of divorce to provide for insurance, was his ex responsible for out-of-pocket (medical not covered by insurance). Those can be deciding factors in how this will be handled. You need to get a copy of the insurance claim to see how much was paid by the insurance company. You need a copy of the divorce decree which "should" stipulate financial obligations by both parties. While the SOL's and the time for reporting has more than likely passed the divorce judgement may be quite different. And why isn't the CA contacting the ex? Do you know her whereabouts? And if they were married at the time and she was listed on the insurance your ex could be responsible. Do some research?
