This should be disputed, not paid. If you pay it off it will be on your credit report for 7 years. Send them the STRONG dispute/identity fraud/validation letter. While it is true that ca's cannot report on minors, you are certainly NOT a minor now and you must use adult methods of getting this off your record. It doesn't really matter that you were underage when these charges were put on your account, what matters is that YOU didn't do it.
(what was your mother's excuse?)
By the way, you don't have to implicate her, just truthfully say these were not your charges.
