notice of arbitration..i need advice

I had an MBNA creditcard, and the claimant currenty seeking $11,700 + attorney fees, and it sent the case to the National Arbirtation Forum, in St Paul Mn for arbitration thorough NCO Portfolio Management.
They served this claim thorough Airborene Express to using my former employer's address as my mailing address in NY state, but I live in Florida.
My question is, if they enter a judgement against me can they put a lien against my home (in FL0 or against my veichle if there is equity on them? What happens if I wanna sell either of them???
I cannot file BK until I have something that has equity on them bc the court can say that I have enough to pay this debt off.
The cliamant also never notified me baout their actions, notr offered payment plans or anything...or if they did, they set them to my old address. If someone have any idea, please help me
