New Mexico has a 4 year statute of limitation for being sued, if you send them a cease and desist/validation/dispute letter and add the notification of the account being past the legal time for bringing action against you, you will be safe from harrassment. Once they have been notified of legal action being time-barred they will not file suit or threaten to file suit as it is a violation of the FDCPA to do so when they have been notified it is time-barred.
