You all answered my question regarding a nearly 6 year old Ameritech phone debt. Thanks. I have one more question for you though. Important dates:
6/96-first date debt was reported on CR. I got this from an old CR I have in my files 9/96-date that debt was listed as going to collection on same CR cited above. 4/96-this is the date that I remember that the bill would have originally been due. Unconfirmed. Given these dates and the 6 SOL in Michigan. What is your opinion on what I should do? Should I try to make arrangements to pay? The CA threatened that if this was not paid in full by 5/22 that Ameritech would garnish my wages. Do think that is scare tactic? CA even told me that account goes back to Ameritech on 5/22. Should I just wait to see what happens next or try to force somebodies hand. These debts are from college, and I now live in CO and would hate to get hauled back to Michigan to go to court for this.
