Texas is a community property State, so if you have a judgment lien against you it can be enforced on your wife also. You might consider an internet bank like umbrellabank.com, or if you have a family member, other than your wife, whom you can trust, you could open a joint account with him/her as primary. Please remember that an attachment lien stays in force for (I think) 10 years and is renewable. They can't take away your homestead, but they can prevent your refinancing it, or buying a new home.
