Charge Off - Sold

I had this credit card through Chevy Chase Bank that was charge off as of 02-2000,now turns that they sold it to 'Sherman Acquisition'(based in TX). The original debt was 8500.00, but First USA (which was collecting for Chevy Chase)was asking for 9413.00; now Sherman Acquisition wants 11575.00.....The last holder hasn't contact me yet and I don't know when they bought this account. I just found it in my credit report, I'm in the state of Colorado and I haven't contact them, just trying to learn how to handle this.Thanks...
