My husband received a call from First Resolution about a debt he has no knowledge of at all! The (not so nice) people on the phone said they wouldn't send him the copy of the original loan paper he "signed" but wanted him to send a copy of his driver's license and his signature three times to "verify" the signature on the loan agreement! Obviously, he did not do this and is corresponding with them by mail to dispute the loan (certified and all that). Furthermore, they told him the supposed date of last payment and the amount. He checked all his records (even seven years ago - they say the loan originated in November of 1995). He has no mention of such a loan (in the abount of $2200 or so), nor any check written that they say, to anyone they say, in any amount they say.

What do you all think of this? He has also had a credit report taken recently - we are buying a house - and there was no mention of it there.

Thanks!
