You need to have whoever is executor of the estate notify the cc company of his death and find out if he had credit life insurance. If it is not a burden to your mother, she should keep the account current until you find out and get the legal advice you need.Generally speaking, the debt would become a claim against his estate.Whichever lawyer your mother has to handle the claims of malpractice, auto insurance etc. should handle this issue as well.
