I thought it would be a good idea to restate my questions now that I've got a couple credit reports in my hand.

Two days ago I received a summons from an attorny on behalf of a Collection Agency. They are directed me to file an answer with the court w/in 35 days, or dispute the debt with in in 30 days etc.

From what I can determine, this debt is from an old Citibank credit card that is no longer on either my equifax or experion credit reports. However they both list the Collection Agency, reporting it as of 4/2002. The experion report says it will remain on record until 11/2004. The Equifax report shows the last acitivity date as 11/97. I am currently in Oklahoma, which as I understand has an SOL of 3 years. I did get the credit card in Colorado, with what I understand to be a 6 year SOL. Since they have filed here in Oklahoma court, they are bound by the Oklahoma 3 year SOL, which expired on 11/2000. Am I correct in these assumptions that I don't have to pay this debt? And if so how should I proceed since they have filed in court and are awating an answer.

Any help is much appreciated, because I can't afford a lawyer.

Thanks,

Daniel
