getting a payoff

I have a master card judgement that Im paying on, 100 a month, that is now in the hands of a lawyer/collection agency for 5600. The original balance is 5000.
I want to pay them off and close the account but Id like to see if I can get a settlement for a less amount.
Is there a good chance i can get a settlement even though it is a judgement? How do I go about asking them, I dont want them to think I have the 5600, which I dont, I have around 3500 to work with.
Any input? thanks
