It is not the LOAN that is the problem, it is the OWNERSHIP.
If you are in a State like Ga. which is not a community property State, the safest way to protect your assets if there are judgments against only one person, is to have everything owned jointly with the "debt free" person's name and id(ss #) as primary on all accounts.
