be very firm with what you want to pay in payments and a down. Dealerships want to sell, they don't care if you can afford(I worked for one in sales) don't sign anything, period, until it's what you can afford, even an "intent to buy if the price is right". Go in low, understate your downpayment and do NOT be afraid to say no (this forces them to renegotiate). BE STRONG. Tell them you want a decent finance %, down, and monthly, and say NO if they will not meet. You know what you can afford, don't give them all the cards. Make them come to you. There are other dealerships......
