The purpose of the "identity fraud" statement is to give the strongest possible dispute. It covers not only the actual cases of identity THEFT but also the cases where your name or other id is mismatched on account records.
Mich. has very strong collection agency laws. If their address is outside Mich. they are only allowed to contact you by mail or phone or fax,they can't sue you,if they are at a Mich. address, call your Sec. State and make sure they are licensed and bonded.
