As I said before, call or e-mail the Sec. State's office and ask if they are legally permitted to operate as a collection agent in Mich. If they say they are "representing" an out of State collection agency, they are operating illegally, as out of State collection agencies are prohibited from filing suit in Mich. in order to do so, they must transfer the debt to a licensed Mich. collection agency.
