I agree with Linda, EXCEPT for the part of "being willing to make payments" You need to assert you right to know if the "alleged" debt is yours, I ALWAYS suggest you include the phrase in any validation or dispute, "this is not a refusal to pay". By doing that, you are not reaffirming that you owe the $$.
