How to file a judgment.

I am now divorced and have a separation agreement that states that my ex-husband is responsible for certain bills that were acquired during our marriage. My name is on these bills as well. My ex-husband wasn't getting the payments made like he said and the creditors where threatening legal action against us both. Due to this fact I have been making the payments on these bills since December. I have tried to get him to pay me the money back, but that isn't working and now he has cut off all communication with me. I was wondering what are my legal options for filing a judgment or something.
