Im just bumping this up. I cant seem get a call back from the Mich licensing division to reaffirm your answer about WWR being able to actually sue and collect. Here is the facts thus far. 1. First select still owns the debt, WWR does not and WWR is not a licensed debt collector, they do not hold a Mich license for collection. They are a law office working on behalf of first select. 2. They are handling and filed the lawsuit on behalf of First select. 3. First select bought the debt from discover in aug 2000. 4. I have not signed the consent judgement nor will I. I have a few days left to contest the suit with the court. I dont know where to go from here. Before I was served papers and the consent judgement I made arrangements of 120 down (which I already paid) and $70 a month (first payment due the 17th of this month) I need advice on where to actually go from here. Time is running out. Basically, WWR cant file an actual judgement or garnish wages ect?? If I dont sign the consent judgement. It all makes sense for them to send me the consent judgemnt if they cant file an actual judgement. Ok I just need to know where to go from here. Thanks Julie
