First. The payment changed the date of last activity when you made the payment and can be reported for 7 years from that date. This is the reporting period.

The Statute of limitations (amount of time the have to sue you for the debt) begins 6 years from that day you were first late. The clock for this cannot be reset unless the acct was brought current.

They DO NOT get more time just because they baught the debt. Unles the acct was current when the last payment braught the account current it is way beyond SOL
