Are there any laws regarding the amount of interest a credit card company can charge? The #$%@# at BP Oil (now owned my the *^$#% at Citibank) just raised my annual interest rate to 36%!! It's only a gas card with a low limit, so it won't hurt too much, it just makes me angry that they can get away with charging that much interest. Any more interest increases on other cards and bankrupcy will be my only option since I won't be able to afford the minimums anymore. Do these people ever THINK about that? They just make it harder to pay the bills and they FORCE people to default because they have rent and utilities to pay. All these credit card companies are anymore are legalized loan sharks........
