Your "chargeoff" date is not important on debts that went delinquent after Dec. 1997. You need to get your Experian report and see the date an account is scheduled to "come off" that is 7 years, if, for instance, you live in a State where the SOL for being sued is 6 years, you deduct 1 year from that "come off the report"date, and you will get the date beyond which you cannot be successfully sued.
